4. The forgotten reputation - Cheoram station

Cheoram station is one of the station in south area of Yeongdong line.

Yeongdong line can seperate nothern and southern part where join Taebaek Line. Because southern area runs less train than northern area.

There is huge coal hill across the station.

Even mining industry has been declined, but still some demands are left and this is one of the supply place.

The coal drop into the cargo cars from that white building. It was built in japanese colonial era, and it is designated by cultural asset.

This station has many tracks to deliver massive amount of coal.

And mine train also displayed in the station as like Dogye station.

The ticket booth was closed because of few passenger only get on the train.

No one was in the station and due to dark wall, It was dreary inside.

Most of Yeongdong line trains leave to Taebaek station, very few trains stop at this station

Cheoram station looks like office building, not station. It was built in 1985.

Around the station, some wall picture were drawn.

In '70s, the boom era of mining industry, taebaek and cheoram went to be rich by exporting coal.

But after 20 years, the mining industry had been sinked and these town also got in bad shape. 

Over the stream across the station, There is sculpture related whth coal.

The station has 2 platforms but use only one because of passenger demand is so small.
